There were also reports of Ramya Krishnan being cast in the role played by Tabu in the original, to which the filmmaker replied, "We are still in talks with a few actresses for the roles played by Tabu and Radhika. Yogi Babu will play an auto driver and has a crucial role in the film." We are looking at another actor to play the doctor (essayed by Zakir Hussain in the Hindi version), but if that doesn’t work out, we’d love to have Karthik play that role. Thiagrajan, however, stated, "We haven’t locked his role yet. It was reported that Karthik will reprise the role played by Anil Dhawan in the original. Karthik and I go back to Alaigal Oyivathillai days we share a good bond." Though we haven’t signed the deal yet, he’s on board. He loved the movie and has agreed to be part of it. Talking about signing Karthik for the film, Thiagrajan told ETimes, "We had screened Andhadhun for Karthik in January. While Prashanth play the character portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana in the original, Thiagrajan has now revealed that he has roped in Yogi Babu and veteran Tamil actor Karthik to play key roles in the film.
The major reason Prashanth was selected for the role was because of piano playing skills. Tamil actor-filmmaker Thiagarajan is remaking the Hindi hit in Tamil with son Prashanth in the lead role. Not just that, it also went on to earn big money at the China box office.
